Our Services

More than 75 percent of all hearing aid repairs are due to moisture and earwax accumulating in the hearing aid. The vast majority of these repairs are 100 percent preventable. It is extremely important to clean the entire hearing aid every time it is removed from your ear by wiping and brushing it. To better protect your investment, use a DRY-AID kit every night! Electronic dry-aid kits are the best. They include a germicidal light that kills most bacteria and other germs. They also have desiccants to absorb moisture and fans to circulate air around the internal components of the hearing aid. Get in the habit of cleaning the hearing aid after each use and keeping the hearing aid in the dry-aid kit at night. The hearing aid is electronic and moisture is the enemy! Preventive maintenance is the key to trouble free, long life from a hearing aid. A well maintained hearing aid can easily last 5 to 7 years, maybe longer.

Our services include the following:

ABR-Diagnostic

ABR-Diagnostic Auditory brainstem response (ABR) is a diagnostic test which is similar to an elctroencephalogram (EEG). This procedure involves the use of clicking sounds to stimulate the auditory nerve, which produces an electical response. Electrodes placed on the patient's face and ears pick up the electical activity of the nerve, and a computer displays the results for the audiologist to interpret. Also known as BERA, BAER.

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs): FM Systems

FM Systems We offer information and guidance on use of assistive listening devices, such as amplified telephones, FM transmitter systems, and infrared systems. These systems serve as additional help in situations when hearing aids do not provide the necessary assistance. We will either order the device in which you are interested, or give you the information to order on your own.

Audiometric Evaluations: Adults

The audiometric evaluation (audio) consists of testing with both speech and pure tones. Testing with pure tones is done to determine the amount of hearing loss for volume. Speech discrimination scores are obtained to estimate the loss of hearing pertaining to the fine-tunig ability of the ear.

Balance and Dizziness

Balance and Dizziness: ENG (electronystagmography) The inner ear is responsible for both hearing and balance. Electronystagmography (that's why we call it ENG - it's shorter) is a battery of tests designed to evaluate part of the inner ear balance system, as well as more "central" components that work together to keep you on an even keel.

Ear Molds: Swim Molds

Custom-made swim earmolds

Custom-made noise protection earmolds Any kind of noise exposure is potentially damaging to hearing, so whether your noise exposure comes from your work environment or just mowing your lawn, custom earmolds can provide protection from noise-induced hearing loss.

Hearing Aids

If you have an aid that needs repair we will be happy to take care of that for you. Many repairs can be handled in the office but if it needs to go to the manufacturer we will loan you an aid until we can get yours back for you. And to help keep your hearing aids working optimally we offer the Dry & Store.

OtoAcoustic Emissions

A small probe like an earplug is placed into the ear canal, and a series of tones is presented to the ear. The probe records the response from the hair cells of the inner ear to these tones to give an indication as to hair cell function.

Real-ear measurement

A small tube attached to a microphone is inserted into the ear along with the hearing aid, and the output of the aid, as modified by the ear canal, can be measured to assure adequate amplification when setting or programming the aid.

Tympanometry

IMPEDANCE testing evaluates your eardrum's ability to vibrate, the pressure in the middle ear, the reflex action of the tiniest muscle in the body (stapedius), and the function of the eustachian tube.

Video-Otoscopy

The Video Otoscope allows patients to see, in full color, a magnified image of the examination in progress. A wide angle fiber optic lens shows the whole picture.
